Of all the brain types, yours is the most mellow. You tend to be in a meditative state most of the time. You don’t try to think away your troubles. Your thoughts are realistic, fresh, and honest. You truly see things as how they are. You tend to spend a lot of time thinking about your friends, your surroundings, and your life.

Thiz quiz is freaky true! I think way too much lol

I like mama being here, our relationship in this past year has grown. We can laugh & joke together and I like that. We went shopping this afternoon for Christmas-y things for my little tree I’ll put up in my apartment, along with getting a black tie for baba for the funeral on Friday and finding a gift for my brother’s girlfriend.

Baba arrived this afternoon and we all went out for dinner (including my brother, which is a rare occurance) and then watched football matches on TV together. I’m such a guy sometimes haha I had a bowl of popcorn and a bottle of diet coke and I was screaming at the TV when the ball went offside or penalties occured. Everyone says I’m not your average type of girl and I like that hahaha I like being one of the guys… sometimes…. but then switching to my feminine ways when needed 😉

Mama called the police last nite after these workmen were throwing garbage into a huge truck at 2:45am and we couldn’t sleep! So the police guy on the phone said that he’d right an incident report and send a police car round to the guys. Within 20 minutes, the noise stopped and we eventually fell asleep!

The family got a call from the funeral company saying that we cannot go view my great-aunts body due to the nature of her death. Seemingly, she not only died from sepsis and renal failure but MRSA and C-Difficle which are very contageous diseases and because of that, they cannot risk anyone being exposed to her dead body. My grandfather didn’t see his sister for nearly a month and she died, so he’s a little upset he cant get to see her one last time. I’m actually a little glad at this because I don’t think he could cope seeing his little sister lying there dead, no matter how much they cleaned her up and made her look respectable. I don’t want his last image of her being a dead body, but rather her in hospital trying to be brave and fight the diseases which killed her.

On Thursday, the Priest guy wants to meet the family to discuss the funeral and pick songs to sing. My great-aunt was a very religious Christian who went to Church every Sunday until she got ill. In her younger days, she used to bake cakes for them and sold them in the Church cafe along with helping in fundraisers etc. So the funeral will be filled with tons of people from the Church, reading from the Bible, singing religious songs and generally stuff I have no clue about! I know more about Islam than I do about Jesus and whatever else is in the Bible.

Then we are going to sort out her personal belongings that she collected since she lived in the family house. My grandfather’s family moved there in 1933, my great-aunt never married and she stayed in that house ever since. Her childhood best friend whom she met the very day they moved to the house in 1933 will be at the funeral. Mashalla having a friend all those years is amazing and it’s so sad losing a best friend after all that time.

I worry about my grandfather, I’m the closest grandchild to him and I’m the one who visits him more than anyone else, I’ve been there when he’s collapsed and had to call an ambulance and I love him more than anything. I know on Friday things will be so hard for him, so I’ll be by his side as always. Mama had to take him to hospital yesterday because he keeps waking up with really bad nose bleeds, ever since his sister died, I think it’s to do with blood pressure and he took some tests and was given medication so enshalla he’ll get better. I worry about him 🙁

I’m feeling generally alot better, there have been times this week when I’ve cried, laughed, stared into space and times when I’ve wanted to pull my hair out, but having a great collection of friends around me, not to mention family, has made the past week all the more bearable. Thank you once again for all the phone calls, voice mails, emails, smses and comments on my blog *huggles*

She arrived this afternoon in a battered box and was hand delivered to my apartment door by the building concierge dude. He told me that I should open it to double check the contents were in one piece. So when I did I was shocked.. I think my face was like :O

I instantly knew it was for me as mama said a few weeks ago that a box will be delivered to the apartment and I wasn’t to open it.. but I have so many deliveries to my apartment, I didn’t think twice to open it and I became ultra happy! I called mama as she was taking my grandfather to the doctor (long story) and she didn’t say anything. So when baba called, I asked him about it and he said it was my Xmas gift and I wasn’t supposed to know about it hehe

When mama came home, she made me check in the box to make sure everything was fine with it and then she said “you might as well get it now since you know about it!”. So there you have it… my new little toy, all 12 mega pixels of silvery perfection 😀

& here is the first shot I took, my messy apartment (it’s always this way when mama comes!)

As I was walking out of the cinema this afternoon with my friend, a random guy who seemed a little drunk asked me for directions to the train station. As I was telling him where to go, his jeans fall down revealing that he had no underwear on and well… use your imagination! This old lady then comes up to him and says “pull your trousers up boy” and he says “I’m trying I’m trying!”. I then walk off laughing telling my friend what happened.

As we continue walking near the shopping mall, I accidently hit a guy in the crotch and I say “omg I’m so sorry” and he replies “no problem, you can do it again if you like, I’d like that!”. I turn bright red and run away lol

Seeing a random guys thingy and then hitting another random guys thingy in one day is way too much action!

I’ve been an ultra fan of Leona since her 1st audition in the Reality TV show ‘X Factor’ in the UK. Her voice blew me away and week by week she just got better and better! I’ve followed her career since she won the show, even joined her fanclub and check her website out every other day for music news. Her voice is amazing (especially for someone in the UK!) and it’s funny to think that before the X Factor, she was a live receptionist! Her debut album was released on Monday and I rushed out to buy it! Now that’s telling you something…. I haven’t bought a CD in like over 2 years! But I just had too!

Her album… one word… AMAZING.. no no no wait… INCREDIBLE! There is not ONE bad song! Since her debut single from her 1st album ‘Bleeding Love’ was released, it went straight to Number 1 in the UK and sold 66,000 copies on its first day of release and went on to sell 218,805 copies in its first week making it the fasting selling single in the UK and her album is on course to become the fastest-selling UK debut album of all time! Music store HMV has sold more copies of her album than the entire top ten put together.. now thats saying something!

I’ve listened to her album for days now and it’s all I’ve been listening too. I decided to give an extra long review for her album because.. well… she’s amazing and I love her voice! Song by song I’ll give you my review…..

1. Bleeding Love – It’s extremely catchy, the song writing is amazing and when I first listened to it I was like WOW! It’s the UK Number 1 single at the moment and hopefully will be til she releases her next one 😉

2. Whatever It Takes – I wasn’t so sure at first while listening to it. But as I listened to it properly I released that my 1st impressions were wrong. It’s an uptempo song and shows a different edge to Leona

3. Homeless – WOW! This song is all about emotion and you can’t help but feel emotional listening to it, plus being able to relate to the lyrics. This song is a sure fire hit and showcases her powerful voice well!

4. Better In Time – One of the stand-out tracks! Very catchy melody and chorus, love the use of piano and strings. My only criticism would be a longer final chorus with a bit more oomph and don’t fade out at the end some amazing vocals. 9.5/10

5. Yesterday – This was a favourite of mine since the moment I listened to it. Again, the song writing and vocal showcasing is amazing (see a theme developing?!). I could listen to this again and again and again and again!

6. Take A Bow – This DEFINITELY is the most amazing song on the entire album and I hope will be released as a single! I’m loving it! so much!

7. I Will Be – A cover of Avril Lavinge’s song which you wouldn’t really expect from her but I must say I love Leona’s version much much better than Avril’s! I’m just wondering why they choose to do a cover rather than writing a brand new song which the same kinda vibe!

8. Angel – I hated this track when I first listened to it but after a few listens I got hooked, it’s a little (erm extremely) cheesy in the lyrics talking about her her boyfriend is an angel and how she’s glad he’s in her life… damn it I’m just jealous cause my love life sucks!

9. Here I Am – This is a soft song with lyrics that would make you want to cry and want to hug ur best friend! I can’t help but love it and it really reminds me of early Mariah!

10. I’m You – Produced by Ne-Yo, I feel that something is missing from this song. I do like it, but hmmm…. I was expecting him to sing on it with her but he didn’t which disappointed me a little. It’s probably my least favourite in the album

11. The Best You Never Had – I’m loving the lyrics. Again another I’d listen to again and again! The arrangement of the song is cool and makes you want to sing the chorus!

12. The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face – If there was one song that makes you go daaaamn, this is it! The way she sings it is flawless, her voice is amazing in this song!

13. Footprints In The Sand – Girl can sing! Damnnnnnnnn! Once again, the lyrics are amazing and everything falls into place with no flaws!

Overall Review: This is the best album I have listened to in years and will be a favourite for years to come (until she releases another and I’d probably love that even more!). There are 12 out of 13 songs which are amazing and they have been on repeat in my ipod since I got it! I know it will go to Number 1 on Sunday (when the music charts are announced in the UK) and I’ll continue to cover her career for years and years to come. She has an amazing gift being able to sing how she does and there is nothing much else I can say but….

download it & listen for yourselves! <-- click there!

your a victim of a hit & run!

I had to go out and buy gifts for some ultra VIP guests who are coming to work tomorrow & I was walking back when an old drunk guy riding on a motorized wheelchair came charging at me and ran over my feet hurting my toes, then carries on driving away while getting chased by 2 security guards.

I had to sit down and check my toes were all still there & they weren’t broken… but they hurt like a bitch!

Damn asshole! They should charge him with drink driving and make him pay for a new pair of shoes!

My lastest obsession….

Damn they are good & I hate peanut butter! Actually I think I love anything to do with Hershey’s Chocolate (especially Cookies & Cream and Hazelnut Kisses).

They sell them @ the little baqala which is within my work building which is too convient when I’m craving chocolate, especially how the cafe is only seconds away from me as well!

I’m eating one as I’m typing.. yum yum yum yum yum!

On Monday, my parents came over from Paris for a few days and we decided to go to the Annual Bonfire Night celebrations (November 5th) which were gonna be huge this year to coincide with the run up to the announcement of whether Glasgow or Abuja (in Nigeria) would be the next host city of the 2014 Commonwealth Games. It was announced yesterday that Glasgow will be the host so that’s great :D.

So anyhooo, we were all wrapped up in jackets, scarves & gloves to watch the light display of over 50,000 fireworks in the sky and the event didn’t disapoint! It was seriously amazing and lasted nearly an hour 😀 As I broke my digital camera and still didn’t get a new one yet, I made my dad bring his crappy one with him and I hate cause it’s so slow but I managed to get some amazing shots of the fireworks out of it… so enjoy the pictures & the video 😀
