Ananyah.com was created by me, originally as a place where I could vent my feelings. Over the years it has grown & now has merged into a website about life, technology, events, food & reviews. There is always something for everyone on my site, even if the colour scheme is more feminine than some men would like
I started with a basic layout way back in 2003, using the blog software Grey matter. I get bored from my layout’s easily so that’s probably why I change them every so often. Now, I use WordPress, and the site is fully coded in PHP & CSS which is a pain in the ass but I love it. Most of my layouts have been graphic intensive, but in the past couple of years, went for a more simplistic look! The current theme was hand coded by me using Coda & is my favourite one by far. It is also fuelled by over 30 wordpress plugins.
The name ananyah can be interpreted in many different ways. I came across the name when flicking through a magazine and I came across a magazine article about these beautiful handmade butterfly bags which I fell in love with. A little further down the article, it told you the meaning of ananyah which meant “One of a Kind” in Hindi, then and there I knew that I wanted my domain to be just that. People always said that I was “one of a kind” and it just stuck with me! Ananyah also means “Selfish” in Arabic, but you can interprete the meaning however you wish… I just say that I’m Selfish but One of a kind
My website has been featured in WeLoveWP as well as being awarded Blog of the Day over at Fuel My Blog plus being interviewed. Several of my photographs have also been featured in online newspapers & travel websites which is an honour as I’m anything but professional
I only review products relevant to my blog, my life, & interests. In all cases, my reviews are written by me because I want my readers to know about products I use and the services I try. However, I do also accept and keep free products and services offered to me for review on my site, or in thanks for content that I have written as well as sometimes accepting cash advertising, sponsorship, or paid topic insertions. I will always provide an honest opinion of products I test and my experiences.
