Today Google launched their own browser: Google Chrome. Google Chrome was designed to make it easy for users to search and navigate the web for the content they’re looking for.
The best bits?
1. A combined search and address bar quickly takes users where they want to go,
2. When users open a new tab in Google Chrome, they’ll see a page that includes snapshots of their most-visited sites, recent searches and bookmarks, making it even easier to navigate the web.
Google Chrome was engineered to deliver a seamless web experience for users. At its core is a multi-process platform that helps provide users with enhanced stability and security.
3. Each browser tab operates as a separate process; by isolating tabs, should one tab crash or misbehave, others remain stable and responsive, and users can continue working without having to restart Google Chrome.
4. Google also built a new JavaScript engine, V8, which not only speeds up web applications, but enables a whole new class of web applications that couldn’t exist on today’s browsers.
5. You can browse pages ‘Incognito’ which lets you browse the web in complete privacy as it doesn’t record any of your activity and discards cookies. Ideal for those people using shared computers or those who don’t want others to know what they’ve been viewing.
At the moment it’s only available for Windows users but in the coming months, Mac & Linux versions will be released. I’m currently using Chrome since downloading in a few hours ago and it is ultra fast, faster than any browser right now; even Firefox. I love the fact that you see screenshots of your most visited pages along with your recently closed tabs & recently bookmarked items.
Download it here:Google Chrome. So what do you think about it? Like it? Will you make the switch from Firefox, Safari or Internet Explorer?
Steve Jobs just introduced the company’s new MacBook Air computer, calling it the “world’s thinnest notebook.” Closed, at its thickest point, it’s about three-quarters of an inch thick, according to a diagram the Apple CEO showed. At its thinnest point, it’s about 0.16 inches, the company says. The announcement confirms the persistent rumors leading up to today’s Macworld Expo keynote. Jobs says will cost from $1,799 and will be available in two weeks.
Technical specs
• .16 to .75-inch thickness on top
• 3 pounds
• 5 hours of battery life with everything running
• Intel Core 2 Duo Processor at 1.6 or 1.8GHz, motherboard the length of a pencil
• 13.3-inch screen, LED backlit.
• 2GB RAM standard
• 1.8-inch 80GB HD or 64GB HD.
• Multitouch trackpad with gestures. Pans, zooms, rotates, etc.
• 802.11n and Bluetooth 2.1
• Optional external HD for $99, USB-bus powered.
• Full backlit keyboard
Note: There is no capability to play CD/DVD’s on the actual laptop, therefore the MacBook Air SuperDrive will need to be purchased for $99 to be able to use externally.
Overall, the new look is hot. The only thing I see wrong with it is the inability to play CD/DVD’s from the actual laptop, but that’s the price you have to pay for being thin!
SNAPPY TOOTH, my new 12 Megapixel Sony DSC W200 Digi Cam
She arrived this afternoon in a battered box and was hand delivered to my apartment door by the building concierge dude. He told me that I should open it to double check the contents were in one piece. So when I did I was shocked.. I think my face was like
I instantly knew it was for me as mama said a few weeks ago that a box will be delivered to the apartment and I wasn’t to open it.. but I have so many deliveries to my apartment, I didn’t think twice to open it and I became ultra happy! I called mama as she was taking my grandfather to the doctor (long story) and she didn’t say anything. So when baba called, I asked him about it and he said it was my Xmas gift and I wasn’t supposed to know about it hehe
When mama came home, she made me check in the box to make sure everything was fine with it and then she said “you might as well get it now since you know about it!”. So there you have it… my new little toy, all 12 mega pixels of silvery perfection
& here is the first shot I took, my messy apartment (it’s always this way when mama comes!)
Sou named her Snappy Tooth as she’s female… with an attitude, SNAP!
OMFG It FINALLY happened! I’ve had just over 1 Million visitors to my little blog since it opened in 2003 *gasp*. Last night I was writing a post about my stats and it was 700 short of 1 Million, then I lost my post as I closed the window by mistake and now as I’m writing this I have 1,000,367 total visitors and 7 people online right now *waves*.
I wonder who the 1 millionth visitor was
So want to know some interesting statistics?

Would you change anything about it?
What do you HONESTLY think about me, myself… the person behind the blog?
I’m not gonna censor anyone’s comments, you can praise me or insult me… I just want a really honest reaction from my readers, all those 1 Million+ of you
The other night I decided that I’d give my laptop a little clean out, and a little clean out turned into a full blown anorexic mission. I was having some problems with it regarding the speed and efficiency performance and noticed over the last few months that it had deterioated plus on several occasions the CPU Usage was way overboard which meant Ctrl+Alt+Delete was my best friend!
So, I put my geeky hat on and did numerous things:
1. removed all programs I no longer use & defragmented my hard drive
2. cleaned up my msn contacts & removed alot of them
3. re-arranged my music folder from A-Z
4. cleaned out the ‘my documents’ folder and put things into folders
5. ran spyware, virus and adware programs to make sure everything with nice & clean
Then the fun began:
I’ve been wanting to install Vista for a while, but heard alot of negative things about it and got told to wait til SP1 is released, but I did like the entire look of Vista, so I found a Vista Transformation Pack for XP which basically turns your XP into a Vista GUI look-a-like and it looks hawt, plus added a new desktop background and a theme for MSN Live Messenger.
I’m loving it
The sony laptop history is quite colorful. Before the hp laptops, the ones to make use of wifi technology were the sony laptops. Another added benefit is that of notebook computer batteries of sony that don’t die easily. This is why students prefer waiting for a laptops sale to get their hands on a used sony notebook instead of buying a bran new hp one.
There are times when even the most funky of technologies screws up. Take Google Maps, for instance, which has been criticised for allowing people to improperly use billion-dollar satellite equipment to spy on people in their backyards, or other naughtier dubious uses of the zoom function. However, all that can be forgiven if something puts a big grin on your face.
Try this:
1. Go to Google.Com
2. Click on Maps
3. Click on ‘Get Directions’
4. Type in “new york” to “paris, france” in the destination bar
Libellula gave me this website today after she was chatting about it at the movies earlier (we saw Smokin Aces). Anyway, this website enables you to watch tons of Movies, TV Shows, Anime and Cartoons without having to download them! Although it would suck to be on dial up while watching!
The Cable Guy: Sounds like heart break to me. Steven Kovacs: Well I really don’t want to discuss it with you. Could you just install my cable please? I’m gonna go get dressed. The Cable Guy: Suit yourself. No sweat off my sac. Oh by the way, you might wanna put on a bathing suit ’cause you’ll be channel surfing in no time!
The Cable Guy woke me up at 8am ~ I didn’t mind
Any gadget geek would be dancing up & down! And I was inside!
50+ channels for my viewing pleasure minus the p0rno channels *vomit*
So yesh I’m hooked up to the outside world now; Cable TV, DSL & a phone line :woot:
BTW Zouk, you’re gonna kill me ~ I HAVE BETWEEN 8-10MB DSL!!!!!
Oooh I just found an old TV show ~ The Wonder Yearsremember that?!
I’m like a kid with candy :spin:
My new toy arrived this morning; Sony DSC-W70.. it’s f-ing hot! It’s tiny, slim, silver & is just perfect for me! I love Amazon So now I have a 1gb memory card and 7.2mp’s to play with woohooo
My new toy has arrived, I’m like a kid with candy :hehe: It’s my new ultra tiny usb drive!
Measuring just 3cm in height and 2.7mm thick the drives are available in a variety of fruit inspired colors. The drives are available in 256MB, 512MB, 1GB and 2GB capacities.
I bought the 512mb one which comes in purple and omg it’s so tiny that I will probably lose it! But I’m gonna use it for my MSc course to keep all my work on it.
It only cost me like £20 (approx 10KD) for it so it’s not so bad! Oh and it comes with a funky little case you can clip onto your documents or even your mobile if you wanted haha
Yes they are girly but they are so freekin sexy even guys would want them!
Ananyah is the alter ego of Michelle, who grew up in Singapore & Kuwait but is technically Scottish even if the accent isn't there! She now divides her time between Glasgow & Paris and could quite happily eat herself to death with macarons à la pistache, cupcakes & starbucks <3
Working in the IT Industry, she loves everything & anything to do with cooking in her spare time, has a handbag addiction, loves to take the most random photos & drools over shiny gadgets *swoon*
