I just got back home from watching IRON MAN and all I can say is OMFG WOW! I loved every minute of the movie and the special effects are out of this world! I wish all those gadgets and computers were actually real! I was dying to see this movie since I saw the trailer and especially since I used to watch the IRON MAN cartoons when I was a kid. Due for worldwide release on May 2nd, it was released in Paris today (which is rather surprising) and it was over-booked for the 7:20pm VOST show. We were lucky to get 3 seats where we did because those who came in after us and just before the movie was about to start were not so lucky, there were even people sitting on the floor! IRON MAN is the type of movie that you MUST check out in the cinema rather than wait for DVD version and it certainly does not disappoint!
Synopsis: Iron Man is a superhero film based on the fictional Marvel Comics character of the same name. Returning to America, Stark improves his armor and becomes the technologically advanced superhero Iron Man. Gwyneth Paltrow plays his secretary and love interest Virginia Potts, Terrence Howard plays jet pilot James Rhodes, and Jeff Bridges plays the villainous Obadiah Stane.
Rating:yes I thought it was THAT good I scored it 5/5
Staring Morgan Freeman & Jack Nicolson, The Bucket List tells the story of two terminally ill cancer patients who decide to break out of the hospital and live their last days to the fullest. Edward Cole (Nicholson) is a corporate billionaire who is currently sharing a hospital room with blue-collar mechanic Carter Chambers (Freeman). Though initially the pair seems to have nothing in common, conversation gradually reveals that both men have a long list of goals they wish to accomplish before they kick the bucket, and an unrealized desire to discover what kind of men they really are.
With a checklist that includes playing the poker tables in Monte Carlo, consuming copious amounts of caviar, racing the fastest machines on four wheels, and much more, these two terminally ill men will do their best to fit a lifetime of experience into their last remaining days while forging an unlikely, but truly remarkable, friendship.

This movie was extremely entertaining telling the story of 2 men who became freinds under the worst circumstances and learnt so much from eachother. I couldn’t stop laughing in areas, then the next thing you know the movie becomes sad and you can’t help but feel sorry for the characters. Both Jack Nicolson & Morgan Freeman fitted the roles well and show just what amazing actors they truly are!
It’s a must-see movie & currently the #1 movie in the US Box Office.
I just finished watching The Kite Runner, a movie based on the novel by Khaled Hosseini and it was amazing, a MUST see.
Based on Khaled Hosseini’s acclaimed novel, “The Kite Runner” is an emotional tale of friendship, family, devastating mistakes and redeeming love. In a divided country on the verge of war, two childhood best friends, Amir and Hassan, are about to be torn apart forever.
It’s a glorious afternoon in Kabul and the skies are bursting with the exhilarating joy of an innocent kite-fighting tournament. But in the aftermath of the day’s victory, one boy’s fearful act of betrayal will set in motion a catastrophe … and an epic quest for redemption.
Now, after 20 years of living in America, Amir returns to a perilous Afghanistan under the Taliban’s iron-fisted rule to face the dark secrets that still haunt him and take one last daring chance to set things right.
During the movie, my emotions were all over the place, the story and the meaning behind it was portrayed beautifully and is now added to my favourite movie’s list.
I really recommend that you watch it when you can!
The first of three movies based on the bestselling Philip Pullman novels, The Golden Compass revolves around a young girl, Lyra, who travels to the far north to save her best friend who was taken by Gobblers. Along the way she encounters shape-shifting creatures, witches, the king of the egyptains, a giant polar bear who talks and a variety of otherworldly characters in parallel universes.
The movie overall was really good, the graphics and settings were amazing! I jumped outta my seat a few times during some animal fight scenes and the young actress who plays Lyra looks totally like Izzie from Grey’s Anatomy! The movie in the US and UK has caused religious controversay as Catholic leaders have said that it promotes atheism but from watching it, there was no religious portrayal of any kind and I don’t get what all the fuss was about.
The movie is great for all ages, after leaving the movie my friend & I were in the elevator and a tiny boy (maybe 5 or 6) told his mom that he wanted to dress up as the good polar bear which was totally adorable!
I’ve been an ultra fan of Leona since her 1st audition in the Reality TV show ‘X Factor’ in the UK. Her voice blew me away and week by week she just got better and better! I’ve followed her career since she won the show, even joined her fanclub and check her website out every other day for music news. Her voice is amazing (especially for someone in the UK!) and it’s funny to think that before the X Factor, she was a live receptionist! Her debut album was released on Monday and I rushed out to buy it! Now that’s telling you something…. I haven’t bought a CD in like over 2 years! But I just had too!
Her album… one word… AMAZING.. no no no wait… INCREDIBLE! There is not ONE bad song! Since her debut single from her 1st album ‘Bleeding Love’ was released, it went straight to Number 1 in the UK and sold 66,000 copies on its first day of release and went on to sell 218,805 copies in its first week making it the fasting selling single in the UK and her album is on course to become the fastest-selling UK debut album of all time! Music store HMV has sold more copies of her album than the entire top ten put together.. now thats saying something!
I’ve listened to her album for days now and it’s all I’ve been listening too. I decided to give an extra long review for her album because.. well… she’s amazing and I love her voice! Song by song I’ll give you my review…..
1. Bleeding Love - It’s extremely catchy, the song writing is amazing and when I first listened to it I was like WOW! It’s the UK Number 1 single at the moment and hopefully will be til she releases her next one
2. Whatever It Takes – I wasn’t so sure at first while listening to it. But as I listened to it properly I released that my 1st impressions were wrong. It’s an uptempo song and shows a different edge to Leona
3. Homeless – WOW! This song is all about emotion and you can’t help but feel emotional listening to it, plus being able to relate to the lyrics. This song is a sure fire hit and showcases her powerful voice well!
4. Better In Time – One of the stand-out tracks! Very catchy melody and chorus, love the use of piano and strings. My only criticism would be a longer final chorus with a bit more oomph and don’t fade out at the end some amazing vocals. 9.5/10
5. Yesterday – This was a favourite of mine since the moment I listened to it. Again, the song writing and vocal showcasing is amazing (see a theme developing?!). I could listen to this again and again and again and again!
6. Take A Bow – This DEFINITELY is the most amazing song on the entire album and I hope will be released as a single! I’m loving it! so much!
7. I Will Be – A cover of Avril Lavinge’s song which you wouldn’t really expect from her but I must say I love Leona’s version much much better than Avril’s! I’m just wondering why they choose to do a cover rather than writing a brand new song which the same kinda vibe!
8. Angel – I hated this track when I first listened to it but after a few listens I got hooked, it’s a little (erm extremely) cheesy in the lyrics talking about her her boyfriend is an angel and how she’s glad he’s in her life… damn it I’m just jealous cause my love life sucks!
9. Here I Am – This is a soft song with lyrics that would make you want to cry and want to hug ur best friend! I can’t help but love it and it really reminds me of early Mariah!
10. I’m You – Produced by Ne-Yo, I feel that something is missing from this song. I do like it, but hmmm…. I was expecting him to sing on it with her but he didn’t which disappointed me a little. It’s probably my least favourite in the album
11. The Best You Never Had – I’m loving the lyrics. Again another I’d listen to again and again! The arrangement of the song is cool and makes you want to sing the chorus!
12. The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face – If there was one song that makes you go daaaamn, this is it! The way she sings it is flawless, her voice is amazing in this song!
13. Footprints In The Sand – Girl can sing! Damnnnnnnnn! Once again, the lyrics are amazing and everything falls into place with no flaws!
Overall Review: This is the best album I have listened to in years and will be a favourite for years to come (until she releases another and I’d probably love that even more!). There are 12 out of 13 songs which are amazing and they have been on repeat in my ipod since I got it! I know it will go to Number 1 on Sunday (when the music charts are announced in the UK) and I’ll continue to cover her career for years and years to come. She has an amazing gift being able to sing how she does and there is nothing much else I can say but….
When a terrorist bomb detonates inside a Western housing compound in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, an international incident is ignited. While diplomats slowly debate equations of territorialism, FBI Special Agent Ronald Fleury (Jamie Foxx) quickly assembles an elite team (Chris Cooper, Jennifer Garner, and Jason Bateman) and negotiates a secret five-day trip into Saudi Arabia to locate the madman behind the bombing. Upon landing in the desert kingdom, however, Fleury and his team discover Saudi authorities suspicious and unwelcoming of American interlopers into what they consider a local matter. Hamstrung by protocol-and with the clock ticking on their five days-the FBI agents find their expertise worthless without the trust of their Saudi counterparts, who want to locate the terrorist in their homeland on their own terms. Fleury’s crew finds a like-minded partner in Saudi Colonel Faris Al-Ghazi (Ashraf Barhoum), who helps them navigate royal politics and unlock the secrets of the crime scene and the workings of an extremist cell bent on further destruction. With these unlikely allies sharing a propulsive commitment to crack the case, the team is led to the killer’s front door in a blistering do-or-die confrontation. Now in a fight for their own lives, strangers united by one mission won’t stop until justice is found in The Kingdom.

The way the movie was directed was unreal! The action scenes were cool, the story was well written and acted and they didn’t seem to have that sorta ideal that “All Muslims are evil!”. I loved the start of the movie (the opening credits) which I really won’t get into since most of you may not have seen the movie yet but I will say that it’s interesting information! The action scenes were cool and there is one scene when you’ll go OUCH! One thing that got me puzzled was that Jennifer Gardener played one of the FBI agents but she walked around in tiny little t-shirts instead of covering up which you’re supposed to do when you leave Western Compounds there. Just something I noticed along with the Police dudes praying on the ground instead of prayer mats! Prince Thamer was a hottie & Faris the cop was so funny when talking to the FBI agents!
By far, it’s the best movie I’ve watched this year and it’s one that I’d watch time & time again! I’d totally recommend it!
Based on a series of novels by Cecily von Ziegesar, Gossip Girl revolves around the lives of socialite young adults growing up on New York’s Upper East Side who attend elite academic institutions whilst dealing with sex, drugs, and other teenage issues. Featuring an ensemble cast, the series mainly centers around the lives of former best friends, Serena van der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf, and their shared romantic interest, Nate Archibald. As outsiders looking in, Dan and Jenny Humphrey do not run in the same social or financial circles as their peers but are drawn into their lives nonetheless. The series is narrated by a seemingly omniscient character, “Gossip Girl”, who runs a blog about her fellow Upper East Siders, consequently stirring the pot and creating potential rivalries in this exclusive and vicious circle of friends.
Last night, Wissam (my Omani friend) and I went out to a Chinese Buffet place and stuffed our faces which was yummy! Especially all the ice cream we had lol!
Afterwards, we caught the late night showing of Hannibal Rising, the trilogy of Hannibal Lecter. It documents his life from when he was a kid, to a young adult and how we became how he is as we normally know this character (when Anthony Hopkin’s plays him).
I’d recommend it, but go with a friend so you can jump into eachother’s arms during the scary bits hehhehe Wissam & me were screaming like a coupla girls (so if you were in Cineworld last night I’m sorry!)

Note: Edited it cause I gave a spoiler away by mistake
I dragged my brother to IKEA today so that I could look at sofa bed’s and some book shelves for my new apartment. I found at least 10 things I want, so I wrote them down and called mom to tell her
Anyway, my brother was in a totally bad mood so to cheer him up, I told him I’d buy him a hotdog and at 50p each, how could I refuse!
I got 2 large hot dogs and cokes for £2.00 which is like
The hotdog was moist, the bread was soft and fluffy as I like it… however the more I chewed, the more harder it became to eat. Not because it wasn’t delicious (I loved it!) but the outer skin of the hotdog was a teenie bit hard (I’m not sure what it’s called) and then as I was biting my gum started bleeding lol
For the price it was amazing, I will have another one again next time I go, next week :woot:, I’ll just be picky about which one I choose
So finally I got to watch Happy Feet, I’ve watched it twice since! I adore Fluffy Little Mumbles! The graphics were amazing, the soundtrack was hot and the voice-cast was just perfect; Robin Williams, Fat Joe, Brittany Murphy, Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman to name a few!
Set deep inside the icy land of Antarctica, two emperor penguins have a baby named Mumble (Elijah Wood). Hatched upon his feet, he has an amazing skill for tap-dancing. However, penguins are not supposed to tap dance. Even worse, he cannot sing. All emperor penguins had supposed to have a heartsong, in which has a try at it, with awful results. Torn apart from his mom (Nicole Kidman), dad (Hugh Jackman), and best friend, Gloria (Brittany Murphy), as a teenager who still has his adolescent feathers, his ventures off into the icy landscape. He is rescued from a leopard seal from a group of Adelie penguins, whom which the leader is Ramon (Robin Williams). They take Mumble to their home and discover that all of their fish is being taken from an unknown ‘alien’ source. They ask Lovelace (Robin Williams), a non-wise and cocky leader of the Adelies, to help them. Unfortunately, he becomes of no help. Leading on an incredible adventure, they try to discover the threat of their food source and survival. Using courage and bravery, Mumble begins to teach everyone begins to learn that uniqueness isn’t a burden, but is a gift to be treasured. [source]
What I loved:
The Music, graphical animations, the baby penguins and well… EVERYTHING! I shall be watching at again and again until I know the words, dance moves, and songs of by heart and start walking around like a penguin! Baby Penguins are so freekin cute, I wanna go to the Toy Store and get a teenie teddy Mumbles now hahaha! I also loved the following quotes:
Latin Penguins: You know, chica chica, boom boom. Mumble: You are not interested in chicas? Latin Penguins: You kidding? Without us the chicas got no boom
Leopard Seal: Come here, sausage. I take you with ketchup! Ramón: Yeah, but first you gotta catch up!
Raul: I don’t think they are penguin eaters, are they? Ramón: I believe they are herbivores. Raul: Uh? Ramón: You know, kelp suckers!
Ramón: Kiss my frozen tushy! Kiss it, kiss it!
Memphis: You bet you will. The word triumph starts with “try” and ends with…? Young Mumble: umph? Memphis: That’s right, a big ol’ UMPH!
Ramón: We’ve got personality with a capital Y. Why? Because we’re HOT!
Raul: What you huggin me for? Ramón: He told me to. Raul: Get away. Ramón: Naaw, you like it!
I advise everyone to go see it at the movies or download the torrent (whether you’re young or old!), you’ll have a great time!
